I quit fooling around last night and opened the case and set the floor fan infront. Could only get 190x11, vcore 1.75 for prime stable (CPU 40c, case 23c). Strongly considering getting a modile chip.

I have alot of questions?

If I get a modile chip (2500) were are most people buy from (new egg)?

Are there bad stepping codes out there for the modile chips? I am a little gun shy now and dont what to go down the same path with another chip with little OC potential?

Also, when people quite they are getting 2.2, 2.1 Ghz are these at speeds that are usually stable (prime)?

Thanks.

Right now there are Mobile 2400+ in stock on newegg for $77, and I think all mobile steppings are good overclockers.

Take a look to this Post

My 2500+ (not mobile) is @ 2315 mhz prime stable.

Both of the XP-M2500's I tested were Prime-stable at 2.2GHz (200x11) @ 1.55V.
The XP-M2600 in my sig is Prime-stable at 2.2GHz (200x11) @ 1.5V.

I would also jump on the mobile bandwagon but I got a regular ole T-bredB (JIUHB DLT3C) that is essentially mobile capable.

I had her stable @ 2.25ghz with 1.58v and I was priming her last night at 2.38 with 1.75v.

Once my SP97 gets here I'm gonna kick it up into the 1.9v range and see if I can break 2.5ghz

It shouldnt be too difficult considering the numbers.

However in your case I feel that you would benefit greatly from an XP-mobile. If ur strapped for cash teh 2400+ is a good choice. However be fully aware that the 2600+ clock far better than the 2400+ or 2500+.

Ok, I just have to figure out how to explain this one to the wife.
A new 2500+ mobile from new egg for $97, sell my old 2500 batron on ebay ($50-60). Loose $40 thats not to bad.

Will the mobile chip will work fine with a NFS-V2 MB.

Sentential what t-bred, that 1800XP? What's the stock VCore for that chip?

How do you know that 2600+ clocks better than 2400+ and 2500+ (i thought that usualy chips with the same core clock about the same....). I ask how you know that because the 2600+ is pretty new on the market... not many ppl have it

jlepri: I heard that mobile bartons run on the same boards as regular bartons, so it should work with your nf7-s

Had my XP-M2500 @ 200x12.5, Prime stable for 2 hrs but couldn't seem to get any kind of gaming going......graphics were kind of screwy...still working on it................

i had same problem as u b4...
190x11
but i raise vdimm to 2.8
no problem to reach 200x11 :)
try it

I'm waiting for my 2500+ Mobile, hope it'll do well.
As for now, my 2600+ Barton (Non-M) is doing nice, 2350MHz 1.8v

Suma.

Just ordered a Mobile 2600+, I hope this one does better then my 2500. Knocking on wood!!

New egg dropped their prices since this morning - I noticed the 2500+M is now $95. This morning it was listed @ $97.

Will have to do some e-bay selling to pay for this stuff.
