lets say Socket 939 asside and just your typical Athlon64 3200+ current setup. How does high speed DDR memory compare to the Athlon64 FX's Dual Channel PC3200 setups?

Like is there options in the bios's that allow for memory to operate at frequencies behond the 400MHz standard while keeping the CPU clocked at stock speed? If so, what would happen if one were to throw in some PC4000 or PC4400 memory and run the stuff at 500MHz or 550MHz? How would the regular 64s compare to the FXs in terms of memory bandwidth?

LOL, sorry for the stupid questions, I'm still a newb to all the 64-bit setups and I'm gonna be building one for the cousin in a few weeks.

Memory bandwidth of the FX's compares to P4's. A64's do very similarly to AXP's. In theory, the FX would have double the bandwidth of an A64, but in reality, they do about 50-75% better in terms of raw bandwith. However, in real-world performance, you aren't very likely to see any difference.
