loseing directx functions when installing ati drivers?

Hi. I'm having a big problem installing ati's new 4.3 cat's with my 9700 pro. Everytime I install them I lose directx functions under the dxdiag panel? I'm following ati's instrucyions on installing them and I'm also uninstalling my creative audigy drivers so they don't interfear. Still I can't get directx to function now. Could someone help me out here?

windows xp home
9700 pro
mainboard aopen AK79D 400vn

uninstall ati catalyst 4.3, install latest directX (9.0b as of this moment), then download omega drivers from omegacorner.com, and install it .. much better than ati's catalyst, and in my case, solved many problems that I had in the past with ATI.
