I just bought this processor:
Amd Athlon XP 2000+ T-bred

this is what it says on it:
AXDA2000DUT3C 2331885271083
AIXIB 0337UPMW

Is it good of anything ?
What could I overclock it to ?
Please Help

that chip is most likly unlocked being a week 37 of 2003,

what you can start by doing is raise the FSB, i got a 2000 to 12.5x160 or 2000Mhz , on stock cooling and Vcore

what you using for cooling ? to help list your system spec's in your sig. and watch your temps dont let them get to far over 50'c

Welcome To The Forum

here it is:
Motherboard MSI KT4AVL
Processor Amd Athlon XP 2000+
Mem: 2x Kingmax 256 DDR PC3200
Vdeo: Powercolor GF2MX400 64Ram

For cooling: evercool ~4200 RPM
CPU temperature ~42° Celsius

I was thinking of geting a new cooler
What do you sugest ?
(don't have to much money)

i've got it at 1779.2 Mhz @140FSB but it's more than unstable
sugestions ?
is it because of the cooling ?

what should I buy ?

Thermaltake Volcano 9 Athlon XP 2800+ 4800 rpm procesor Coper

or

Titan TTC-D5TB (G/CU35/SC) Athlon XP 3200+ 3700 rpm procesor Coper

Definatly get the volcano then.

I dont know if i just got a bad heatsink but my volcano 9 is absolutely horrible! There has to be something wrong with it.
Maybe the copper slug was installed badly? Or it does just not sit exactly tight enough on the cpu. I dont know.

Im using a stock Amd 2400 cooler right now and it beats out the volcano 9 by(no joke) 5c! I will return it soon!

BTW i use the 2400 instead of the 2500 cooler cause its slightly larger.

I got a volcano 7+ and its not too bad for its time.
I also usually lap my heatsinks as their base isn't really that flat.
A friend of mine has the other heatsink that guy posted, and it really sucks. his chip is running very hot under full load.
Maybe you should just reseat your volcano. Although not top of the line, they aren't THAT bad, that they're worse than stock cooling

I must have done it 6 times in 3 days man,it aint gettin no better!
I have a post up about my volcano7+ can u checkit out' see if u can help? tx!

This is a list of coolers i can choose from B/C of the money

Help me pick the best one please.
