View Full Version : Non working Raptor! Need Help!!!!

I have a friend that has an Abit IC-7 Max 3 with a 74 GB WD Raptor. He can load windows onto it but can't boot from it. What could be wrong? First I thought it was his bios then I thought by hitting F6 when you first load windows would help, but it didn't. There is no raid and he previously installed a SATA Maxtor 120GB before the Raptor. Any tips? Thanks

disconnect the maxtor, it might be trying to boot from that
if it works, then just change the hdd boot priority in the bios

Yea, i think it's the device priority thing in bios. The bios is telling the system to boot from the maxtor before the raptor, it cant boot from the maxtor, or it has the remanents of windows on it, incomplete boot thinymabob and it just hangs there.

Recheck the jumpers as well.
