I have an Abit Slotket III, and it has served me faithfully for a long time. Right now, it's working away with my Celery 633 at and even gig (105 FSB) and for that I'm really happy. I keep on hearing problems concerning this slocket more than any other, though. Also, a comment made about the ASUS slocket being the best made me wonder...

What's considered the best slocket out there? For the longest time, I thought the MSI was the best, markedly more stable than the rest (though I wouldn't know firsthand...) The Asus post sort of got me to thinking...

Well, for a long time I've been using the MSI 6905 Master ver2. I'm as happy as a pig in sh**. Before this (when I had the old Cellie 300a) I had the original MSI 6905. With the results I've gotten from both I've had no reason to even try any others.

Hi,

I used Abit Slotket III for about a year and it worked great. But then I decided to get the Asus S370-DL slotket because of the four holes around the socket, that I wanted to use to mount an Alpha P3125s on it (still in work, not done yet). I installed the Asus sloket in my Abit BF6 mobo and it worked great. It was as stable as the Abit (or slightly better, didn't test them against each other) and I got a core-temp reduction of my Celeron 600@1GHz of about 3-5°C, because there's no plastic cover round the Asus slotket, like it is on the Abit Slotket III.

Hope this helps!
