WHat is FSB of Intel 1Ghz??

My freind has a PC with Intel 1Ghz but the FSB is 100Mhz not 133Mhz!!

What is the original Design of Intel 1Ghz?
is it to be
10 * 100 = 1Ghz??
or
7.5 *133Mhz, and this what It should be.

Any help??

Mine is 7.5 * 133Mhz so the real speed isnt 1000Mhz exactly, its like 997.54Mhz so its nice when u bump the FSB up a bit to 140Mhz so its now at 1050Mhz :)

There are both. Check out Intel's site and you'll see that Intel released both 100 FSB and 133 FSB versions of the 1 gig proc. With the newer cD0 chips, the 10 x 100 chip is only available in OEM.

I believe most (if not all) of the 100Mhz FSB 1.0Ghz PIIIs are cc0 stepping slot1 cpus. These chips are favorites among people who have older slot1 motherboards that only have limited FSB adjustments or don't have PCI bus dividers that allow the PCI bus to run at 33Mhz at 133Mhz FSB. Many of the older dual slot1 440BX and 440GX boards are this way. I, myself, was considering getting a couple of these for my Tyan Tiger 100, but instead I'm now thinking of something else that would involve upgrading the motherboard as well as the CPUs. Anyway, I have heard that many have had success in getting these chips to 112Mhz FSB without much trouble. Because these chips are a little bit more rare than the 133Mhz variety and also because they fit into a certain market niche they tend to cost a bit more than the 133Mhz 1Ghz PIIIs. The cheapest I could find was about $225 each.


There is also a 900Mhz 100Mhz FSB PIII. That one, I beleive, is an FCPGA chip. I'm not sure of the steppings it's available in. Anyway, they used to sell these at a few places like Tigerdirect. I'm not sure if they are still available or not. They were also fairly rare and many people didn't even know such a chip existed.
