Newb with a problem

Ok guys, just built my first real computer.

AMD 2800 "barton"
Asus a7n8x MB Rev2.0 bios 1007
1gb kingston hyper x ram...

Ok thats the important stuff..

I cant get the MB to realize I have a 2800.. initially it read the chip as a 1250 now, as a 2200... what gives... I cant find any information for the correct settings...someone I need guidance

is your fsb set to 166?

Did you set your FSB to 166 and multi to 12.5 in the BIOS?

i did...wow... much better than 1250...

thanks...now what should my memory be set at? I think its the pc2700 memory it says 166mhz at startup

pc2700 memory runs @ 166fsbx2 so your good to go!
