Will I crack my cpu if I do this?

Would I be able to put the HSF from my xp177 palimino on a Mobile xp2600? Am I going to crack the cpu if I do?
The reason I ask is because I want to return my Thermaltake silent boost and get the Thermalright SLK-947U and I want to use the mobile 2600 until the new one comes.

not that i know from experience.though it seems like i change chips everyday.if its flat i wouldnt think it would crack.

probly should work , id run it lil slower and watch the temps. i take it the XP177 is a 1700, then once you get the new heatsink clock it back up.
