I fried my 80mm tornado running it at 24v the other day (Screamed like a monster at 17) so I threw some ghetto piece on my heatsink and am running that at 24v right now...but its running off another power supply.
Well anyways I lapped my heatsink to 2000 grit the other day and reseated PERFECTLY...it was nice, and well i only got a temp drop of like 2 deg and it had been running a lot hotter lately even though i didnt reseat of move earlier. So I kinda figured the temp sensor was being gay.
Well back on topic I forgot to turn the fan for my heatsink on and I was curious and entered bios to check the temp. 77C...i was like god dammit...stupid temp monitor....then i was like oh sh*t. Pulled the plug and turned the fan on immediatley.
lol I felt the side of the sink and it burned me. haha another close call.
