am about to buy a 2500xp will be upgradeing mem to ddr 3200 shortly question is will it run with my already installed ddr2100 (albeit like a one legged dog) or will it refuse to boot pls advise

MHz speed = FSB x multiplier

FSB is high 140s to low 150s FSB for average stick of generic PC2100 RAM.

So if you have a multiplier unlocked chip you're looking at a [high multiplier] x [very low FSB] with PC2100.

If you plan on getting some PC3200 for your system, ditch that PC2100 thats in there. Otherwise you are wasting your money on the PC3200. The lower speed RAM is deffinatly going to limit your O/C.
