If I were you I would seriously consider what Dead_man recommended. At newegg the differance in cpu is appox $20 bucks and the differance in Kingston's value ram over a top quality ram is appox $46 (like corsair'a XMS ram or others in it's class). The motherboard differance is appox $24 . All this total's less than an addational $100(within budget) and will provide many addational features, beter preformance with future increases in preformance with little addational cost (even some possible overclocking in the future with a little cooling).
Vid selection looks great!! Good Luck

you might also want to consider Asus a7n8x deluxe MB, it's got great onboard sound and lots of other features. Also if you can afford them the Logitech z-340 speakers are about$35 and sound awesome for the price you pay

NF7-S Motherboard, $102 at Newegg right now.

Mobile procs have a lower default voltage, and they're clocking like mad right now.

The retail buying public is not the designed market for the mobile processor. They are designed for the laptops so the replacement parts are intended for the oem manafacturs and the laptop repair market. Thus the oem's are expected to provide any warranity. Overclockers provide thier own warranity-none it goes out the window-

The Asus A7n8x-e deluxe is an excellent recommendation. It is a feature rich board at a very resonable price. If you will study the features the board to it is very sweet. Asus also like many of the reputable companies has an excellent warrenity.

The MSI NEO2-P is an awesome board for about $90, I put a P4 1.8A Northwood on there and it is rock solid at 2.4 and higher.
I was able to build this for about $450, you could use the rest to get a decent video card
- Chieftec Matrix Midtower with PSU- $120
- Pentium 4 1.8 Northwood 400 FSB-$110(could spend a little more here)
- MSI Neo2-P motherboard-$90
- 512MB Crucial DDR- $80
- WD 40GB 7200RPM HD-$60
