Hello.
I bought a new mobo + CPU: ASUS A7V 133 with a 1.2GHz Athlon.
Now I want to buy a new video card... what card would you suggest to me? (except GeForce 3 lol)
Ha , good question sorry I dont have that answer I've been reading reviews and looking through the Creative labs website and let my tell you its mind bogling. I kind of like the GTS2 geforce cards the ultra is super fast and super expensive the MX cards are good prices but there certainly not the ultra or the Geforce 3.
I'm not sure what you expect from your card but you need to answer that before you can find the card you'll really love there is so many video cards and I'll bet you'd like them all expecaily if you dont have one yet. You need to do some serious researsh read a ton of reviews and then maybe you could tell me the BEST card there is out there.
Toms hardware has some reviews on Creative labs VC's this site has some reviews also research , research and more research then go buy one :).
Good Luck
Let me ad to that with an actual suggestion , from cheapest to not so cheap geforse2 MX400 then a geforce2 GTS followed by the geforce2 Ultra finally the GeForce 3. I can't stress this enough do some research and make a dicission that best fits your needs.
By the way in my mind there is no point in buying anything less than a Geforce2 MX400 thats why I started there.
There is also other kinds of cards , these are the only ones I've done any research on so check them all out.
I am a firm suppporter of the RADON 64 meg DDR Vivo card.Has great features awsom image quality, and good frame rates,And for 149 dollars you cant get a better all around card.

Hehe ya jb you only posted Nvidia cards there.
The Radeon VIVO is great but if you don't need/want the video-in/out then I suggest the Radeon LE. I got it, did the hack and overclocked it and I had a Radeon 32mb DDR.
Mine was 90 canadian, so you might be able to find one for 60 US.
Oh ya and it beats all the Geforce 2 line in 32bit color and the picture quality is brilliant.
Or if your going all out get a Geforce 3 or wait for the Radeon 2

hmm... bundled software doesn't matter to everybody, but if it matters to you, I'd make sure you compare what all the products offer in the box beside the card... I am happy with my Elsa GeForce III, but in retrospect, I might have been better off getting the Hercules Prophet III because I watch a lot of DVDs and I like the Power DVD software better than ElsaMovie...
I'm not sure if that matters to you a whole lot, just throwing it out there since nobody else has yet... I have found that a lot of video cards out there (especially the high-end nVidia cards) perform pretty close to one another, so just get exactly what you want...
as for which is the best, refer to Pinky's post in the General Discussions area: "Opinions are like... and Everybody has them" :)

You can get a geforce 2 ultra for 200$, pretty good deal and a even better card.
