Ok...
I bought this card refurb from newegg...
APOLLO ATI RADEON 9200SE Video Card, 64MB DDR, 64-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "Devil Monster 3 Radeon 9200SE 64" -RETAIL
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-140-026&depa=0
I put it in.. I booted, I got TWO display adapters that wanted drivers.. 9200 SE and 9200 SE - SECONDARY.
I installed drivers from the cd with the included atisetup.exe, RESTARTED, no luck, win still wanted drivers etc.. so I did SEARCH FOR DRIVERS on both, found them on the cd... Instaled.. rebooted...
PC won't display if both are enabled, won't display if only first is enabled, only will display when second is only one enabled. but, when I reboot, it gives me CANNOT FIND DEVICE Etc.. in starting ati control panel. It's messed up, all I Want is to change the damn refresh rate from 60 hz to 75 like I do always, so I don't get the damn fricked up lines when scrolling, able to play the dvds.. etc...
I'm confused as hell, it works in safe mode, but obivously won't let me change refresh.
Gah, anyone wanna help?
Thanks it'd be much appreciated,
-Excelsior
(Dled drivers won't oinstall says CAN NOT FIND COMPATIBLE DEVICE)

Under the advanced tap there is a tab for Displays.
Go there and make sure only one device is seleted. Then click on that device and make sure that you set the max refresh rate.
Refresh rates need to be changed under the Mointor tab.
Ive never seen 2 devices be picked up like you are describing.
What card did you previously have in here? Did you unistall the old drivers before installing the new card?
What does your display sub menu in Device Manger look like?

Nonono you can't change refresh rates until you install drivers for a card..
New built system, no old card.
sub menu of device manager:
+Display Devices
-9200 SE
-9200 SE Secondary

Oh, I thought you had the drivers installed already.
What happens if you disable the 9200 Secondary and then try to install drivers?

You're not understanding correctly.. O_X
I installed drivers from CD on BOTH, I've disabled secondary, but I can't get VIDEO when I disable secondary.

Unistall all the drivers then. Unistall both card listings from the device manager, and start over.

The adapters are for dual monitors. Monitor 2 = secondary. When you disable the secondary one in device manager you are disabling the graphics card lol
Just leave em be ;)

I have dual monitors and I don't show two devices in device manager.
There should only be one physcial display adaptor. Something is not right.

My r9700 and r9800 cards do this too. Its normal. Dont install the complete set of drivers for each adapter, just use ATIs auto install program.

urgh, sorry l337 but you be worng in my case...
Disabling one of them lets the monitor work, if I keep the monitor plugged in the first slot, or the second, doesn't matter. blah. IT won't install in any way shape or form correctly, and won't recognize.. I even had the_Coolest vnc into my machine and he agreed he had no idea wtf was up.
Off to RMA refund I go, I needed a card under $40 that'd be fine for dvd play since this is for a rig I'm selling.
most it'd do was DVD play and M$ word.
