Hello I am getting the 8k7a mobo and I want to know if there is new bios allowing this board to support pc2400 ddr memory?

When I make the purchase I don't want to find out later that I bought slower memory then I can use so if you got the new bios let me know whats up.

Thanks if ...

There is no offical standard for 2400ddr.
Its just memory thats been tested to run at 150mhz.
But yes it will work just like 166mhz sdram works in a pc 133 board.

Cool thanks so if pc2400 runs at 150mhz how fast does the pc2100 and the pc1600 ddr run ?

2100=133
1600=100
These are minimum guaranteed speeds. You might be able to run them faster but if it wont then you cant complain to the mfg.

I don't think you necessarily need to buy PC2400. Most Crucial PC2100 DDR runs easily at 150 Mhz CAS2. My 256MB stick is running now at 167 CAS2 no problem. I've tested it stable at 177 Mhz CAS 2.5. It might even go higher, I just didn't try it.

Ya Len thats probably true I've heard of people running 2100 stable at 177+. I ordered 2100 anyway yesterday and I got free 2nd day shipping from Crucial.com (go to the cyber deals forum on this site for the link if you haven't already).

I've got the same mobo and cpu (as long as yours is 266) and its looking increasingly likely I'll have the same video card aswell. Did you put a new hs and fan on your Leadtek ultra?

It came stock (default) at 250/500 right or was it 460 anyway with 4ns memory it supposed to run at 500 but I think the manufacture sets it lower for certain stability. Icould be wrong but I've heard thats the same thing AMD does with their cpu's (running them default at a lower speed then they were built).

My CPU is 266 Mhz. If you got a 1.2 Tbird then it is likely that it is factory unlocked. Check those L1 bridges! My Leadtek GF2 Ultra has the stock HSF and ramsinks on it and I don't intend on replacing them. Core overclocking is mostly useless anyway. The default memory clock is 460 Mhz but you are correct that 4ns will do 500 Mhz almost for certain. It is 460 Mhz because that is Nvidia's spec since back in the day when the Ultra's first came out 4.6ns DDR was more common and 4ns was rare.

The future of the company is indeed relies on how Wii U performs, and to make sure of that, Nintendo need make it much more affordable or we can just say it as ‘selling at a loss’ to the mass market when it debuts. They’re also need to keep attracting AAA titles to their launch lineup so that people can have more reason to buy Wii U. The second sentiment need to be written down by Nintendo as it has been voiced up by one of the most popular video games publisher, Square Enix.

The Wii U is expected to hit the shelves next year, in 2012. No exact release date has given out just yet by Nintendo.
