I found this site http://www.aosco.com/ and I am lucky they have a business rep in my city. I am going to check them out this week since my radio shack non-silicone is almost gone. The website claims they developed the first non-silicone compound. I like this type as it performs well in my experience. I will post what I find at the store. The website has some good info as well. Has anyone used their products?

Please, please no "Use Artic silva" ok? I work in concert production and the equipment we use gets hotter than any bloody cpu. If it was so good Crown would use it in all their amps trust me they power every major concert you will ever see.

Trying to keep down the unnecessary posts.

Thanks for the reply. I posted in Ars also. I should have asked the same here for some engineer types to decipher the specs on the site for laymen like myself. I'll probably go to the store here tomorrow.

I use radio shack non-silicone type excusively. Right now my pIII700@933 with gGate is at 86F and the mobo is 86. Prolly 77F or so in the house I guess. I'm eager to try this new place though.

Update:

There is a paste they have that is electrically conductive that performs notably better.

That's not bad at all. You might be interested in that one if you're going to be making a purchase.

Hmm... I just checked on Arctic Silver's thermal conductivity.

I know I had originally said this stuff should kick ASII's butt, but man after having compared the two I dunno. I had no idea ASII's ratings were that good.

Here's the #'s.

I'll cut to the chase and give you the relevant #'s.
This is the thermal conductivity measured in W/m K. (Most commonly referenced #.

Now we're getting somewhere. That AS is some serious stuff. I don't knock it at all I'm just a cheap *******. Thanks for the replies. I am scared of electrical conductivity though on a cpu.

(Workin a show today had a lighting circuit blow in my face by the way. Almost Phillip=Toasted Kid. That's why I prefer audio.)

There was a post sometime back and this guy was complaining that there was something wrong with his Radio Shack compound. I couldn't figure it out esp. since I have been using generic pastes (has no labels!) so far and have been satisfied with them.
