This is a followon to the bh-5/6 faq. One of the most common and annoying questions is, is this bh-5? I will not explain what bh-5 is as that is coverd in the faq. First, both bh-5 and bh-6 are about as good as eachother bh-6 just need more voltage that is all. Bh-5/6 chips need more than 3.0v befor they start to shine.

Is xxxxxx bh-5/6
If it can run 200mhz (400 data rate (pc-3200))@2-2-2-x this it could be bh-5 or bh-6 both can do this without loads of voltage.
If it can run 216mhz (433 data rate pc-3500))@2-2-2-x without a 2.8v+ then it is probably bh-5.
bh-5/bh-6 can often get to 250mhz+@2-2-2 with quite a large voltage. Here is a list of rams that do or did come with bh-5/bh-6

Corsair:
pc-3500c2 rev 1.0 or 1.1 come with bh-5
pc-3200(pro(ll)) rev 1.0 or 1.1 come with bh-5
Mushkin
pc-3200 (lvl 2) hi-perf (?) come with bh-5
pc-3500 (lvl 2 ) come with bh-5
pc-3200 (lvl 2) 222 special come with bh-6
OCZ
pc-3500 platinum edition limited come with bh-5
pc-3200 platinum edition limited come with bh-6
Kingston
pc 2700, 3200 value ram can come with ch-5, bh-5/bh-6 (look at module chips to find out)
Hyper-x 2700, 3000, 3200 (3500??)early revisions can come with bh-5 some new ones come with ch-5, i think that if there is an 'A' in the model number (khx pc3200a) then i do not think that it will be bh-5.

There are many more, but they are the main ones, it was used in many pc-2700 as well, when it was out it was used like ch-5 is now to an extent. There are probably a few erros on the list, i will beupdating this as soon as info becomes avalibul.

Older OCz pc 3500 el also comes with bh-5 chips though its tough to find now. I guess the best way i've found to test is if it does 200 @ 2-2-2-11 timings or higher at default voltage its probably bh-5. If you can get into the 230's at those timings no matter the voltage its almost certainly bh-5.

I have seen Kingston Value Ram PC2700 with BH-5.

its easy to tell with that stuff, as there are no heatspreaders.

Here's how to ID Kingston (I have quite a few):
pc3200: non-a is bh-5. a is ch-5
pc3500 and 3000: you have to remove the heatspreaders, and check the rebranded markings. DW-50 is bh-5. DW-60 is bh-6. DW-45 is explained in this pic:
