I was hoping someone out there could tell me whether or not my asus a7a266 can handle the mobile xp2500+. I read these forums the other day and now I ordered one and its coming this week from newegg. I checked the asus website and with a flash is says I can get up to a xp2600+, but it didnt say anything about a barton core and it didnt say anything about a mobile. I would really like to hear some input on this if anyone has something for me.
Thanks

You will most likely be able to run it at 12.5x133 without problems. To get the the higher multipliers you'll have to do a wire trick

It should work fine since the board supports Thortons with the latest BIOS revision. Note I said should, though. There's no telling if that old Ali chipset will like a mobile chip.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering since I am a little new to understanding the numbers in my bios settings. I took a shot of what I have now. I am running an overclocked xp2100+ on water, Is that shot right and it means my multiplier is 20? I would like to know how I can change that number I am at l think 115/37 I see my multiplier number is greyed out and I can't change it to anything. I just flashed my mobo tonight to get ready for that xp2500+ I was hoping after the flash I could change multiplier, I still can't and I was hoping I would be able to push the voltage higher. I see the numbers for my voltage go from 1.6 to 1.8, How can I get up to the 2.0 volts like some of these other guys and If you would can you tell me about the wire trick and some other mods. A link to this info would be great also. I thank you much for you patience and speedy response.
