For some reason my Internet Explorer now sets all pics to .bmp when I go to save. Where can I change this back to normal or disable this feature.

IMHO, it's related to some broken objects installed. Go to Service -> Common -> Parameters -> Browse Objects... (the spelling may be inaccurate - I have a localized IE so I'm translating) and look for some suspicious crap there.
