View Full Version : Problem with connecting to games

I just set up a lan. I got the 2 computers to share internet connections and is able to share files now no problems at all. Theres 1 problem. I cant get second comp to connect to games e.g Helbreath, Gunbound. The two computers are connected using just a crossover wire. No routers or anything and the first (main comp is connected to a cable modem cant anybody here help me fix this problem

Now when you say that the second computer can't connect, do you mean that it can't connect to games online? Or to games on the first machine?

Most games have a website to give u the suggested settings for the firewalls. Open ports u need to open.

well i went to http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;308127

Note If the Settings button is unavailable, ICF is not enabled on this connection and you do not have to open any ports (they are all already open).

i disabled the built in firewall in XP and disable norton security and still doesnt work.

and if i was to open the ports i would know which one cause the site of the game does now tell

If it's not ur firewall and u r able to get on the internet and share files, then its got to be a set up software problem in the game itself. I guess that could be many different things.
