Great app for playing mp3 and other adio formats under DOS.
I can run 192kbit stereo mp3s on my overclocked 486 dx2 66@80mhz with 16mb ram and a sb16.
Just get freedos and an XMS driver and you're all set.
Havn't tried higher bitrates yet, it might work with 320kbit but I'm not sure.
MPXPLAY supports a lot of soundcards including SB Live and Audigy.

For really slow machines with more than 10MB of memory, try this commandline:
mpxplay -sl 0 svc 100 -ddma -f0 -v -bl -bn8 -hq

That works well with my sb16 but might not be as good for you.
I didn't even have to set the BLASTER variable in autoexec.bar or load any drivers for this to work.
