View Full Version : Code for my 1 gig is AYHJA, is that alright
I can get this to post at 1600+ with my kt7, but due to the crappier fsb oc of the kt7 windows craps out with memory errors. I have access to another chip like this should i gobble it up seein as im going to upgrade mobo's real soon?
Sounds like a very good chip. If you can get another one cheep get it. Most AYHJA chips are 1.4 G so you should easily get 1.4 out of most 1 G AYHJAs. If I didn't just order a 1.2 athlon from tcwo.com I would be very interested in a 1 G AYHJA.
Yeah, no doubt! Where are you getting these, and how much?
I work at a local computer shop here in town, The T-Birds dont sell that much here so our cost is 95 bucks. Everyone wants a celeron or PIII.

Dude, a 1 GHz AYJHA?? Heck yeah, snap those up. If nothing else you could resell it, as I imagine that chip will OC rather well on a better board (no offense intended). The only speeds I have heard of AYJHA's at are 1.3 GHz and higher. I would think with a good cooler (SK6, Glaciator, Swiftech MC462, watercooling) you should be able to hit 1.6 with those chips.
Man, now I'm jealous. 1 GHz at a sweet stepping.

Just built the first AMD system for myself last weekend and got one of these AHYJA-Y 1.4 chips. It does 1.6 for me no problem at default voltage and I know it has more in it. My crappy memory won't let me do much with it and my multiplier is maxed out at 12...so until I get some good quality PC2400, I'm stuck.
Runs really hot, too. Mine mostly has to do with my room temp being up there since being in CA, we have to watch about the A/C on all the time with the energy crisis(?) going on. Just make sure you have good cooling. Ordered a Thermalright SK6 just a few minutes ago myself as my ThermoEngine w/Delta and Millenium Glaciator couldn't keep this thing below 53C under load.
Overall, I'm happy with this stepping after being a sole Intel user for 10 years...

I would be curious what you get with that bad boy, please let us know.
I don't remember the URL but I've seen them for sale for $105 online. I'm going to pick one up in a little bit, once finances have settled down. New house and baby come first from now on)
What motherboard and memory do you recommend, I need to upgrade my abit kt7 anyways, I have about 250 in my budget, School tapped me out, I want to harness as much as possible.
I piocked up one of these, in hopes to get to 1.6 somehow, but at least my chip (unlocked 1.33 for about $140) does not show better performsnce than my AXIA which I bought 2-3 months ago. It tops out around 1.5 with WC. It possibly runs slightly cooler, but not by mlre that 1C.
Yo
iComPz.com (http://www.iComPz.com) has AYHJA 1G birds for $104 shipped if anyone is interested.

what I want to know is...are ALL new 1 gigs going to have 1.4 stepping??? Has ne1 checked to find out? I can wait, so I don't get overcharged for a chip that will be widespread here soon
just my two cents
