I have an Athlon64 3200+, mobo Gigabyte K8N (nForce3 150), and some cheap DDR400 memory (single 512 MB stick, Transcend maybe), running Linux.
I had it originally clocked to 210 (meaning 2100 MHz on the processor), and everything worked fine. Memtest86 would run all right. Then I upgraded the BIOS, which resetted the clock to 200, and I started getting errors. I tested with Memtest86 and it would not run. I was about to buy new memory, but when I clocked the mobo FSB back to 215, everything started to work again, Memtest runs ok etc. I didn't change any voltages or anything, just the FSB clock.
So, it seems that my memory works better when overclocked! Anyone had similar experiences? Any advice, will this last?
