I have ordered a 2.4C just to see how High I can take it, but I was wondering if I should send it back and get a 2.8 or 3.0. I'm going to be using pc4000 RAM and will hope to hit 280-300FSB. Any suggestions?

2.4C is it if you're looking to hit 280 and above front side bus. 2.4C is also probably the best in terms of overclockability since many get 1GHz overclocks. Chances are very slim you would get that with a 2.8 or 3.0 CPU.

Mine's doing 288FSB and that's with a 2 x 512MB kit. I have a 2 x 256MB kit coming, so I might hit 300FSB, or REAL close.

Highest overclock % or highest clock speed period?

I think the 2.4C has the highest % overclock. 3.2-3.4GHz. The 3.4 probably gets you the highest though. 3.75-4GHz.

EDIT: If you want to reach 280-300FSB then get a 2.4C M0.

some of these new 3.0Cs look pretty promising in terms of clock speed but the 2.4C and 2.8C M0 steppings are also pretty good.

Thanks for the replies, I ordered it today from newegg. I don't know what stepping it will be though till i get it.

By the way, I am definitely going just for % overclock. I doubt I'd beat my 3.4C in Highest Frequency.

It seems that All the new 2.4c's are the M0 steppings. Hopefully mine is too. I have a week to see and return for a full refund. Wish me luck!
