OK...I am new to this high speed overclocking stuff so please bare with me. Heres my questions...I have just upgraded to an AMD 1.2 ghz on an asus mobo. At first my temps were a bit high...they were running at 40c for mobo and 58c for cpu. I installed a thermalright sk6 and a delta 38 fan. I overclocked to 1264 and my temps a holding at 30c and 41c for the cpu. So what i am trying to find out is if these temps are good or just satifactory and at what temp should i start to worry about being to hot ?. Also the air temp here has been pretty hot these past few days so im sure that has a bit of effect on the running temps.
Thanks !!!
41C idle is pretty good. I'm getting that same heatsink for mine this week for the same problem. It's hot here and mine is chugging along at around 55C with a Glaciator on it.
I bought a room fan yesterday to try and cool things off a bit. Helped to a point but still caused for more drastic measures (the SK6).
As far as I can tell, as long as you're under 50C load, you're good to go. These things just run HOT!
True dat... mine is right now @ 102F/39C, running Seti and browsing.... It drops off to about 100 even @ idle (Idle for my machine being just Seti) Look at awell placed fan setup for air cooling.... I have a MC462, with the Sanyo Denki, and a 120mm going into that in the case side.. plus a 120 up front in the case, and an enermax dual fan power supply to suck air above the CPU out. Results..... I run Seti (idle) at 106F with the side of the case off, 102 with it on...... and my t-bird loves me for it :> good luck! Jim
Hi there guys,
I also have similar systems. My mobo temp is between 22-24C and my CPU idle is 39C and loaded 42C. See my spec in my signature.

Well i have 6 fans total in my case.....power supply fan of course...a delta 38 sitting on the sk6...a case fan in the back panel sucking air into the case....a small cooler master blowing on the mobo and expansion cards and a small cooler master on the top of the case sucking the heat out...i clocked up to 1380 and my temps are holding at 32c for mobo and 43c for cpu. So are these temps acceptable for idle and if anyone has any ideas for me to get the temps to drop even more please tell me.
Thanks

It is an 1200mhz tbird. I think i have a bi problem i have 2 fans and a system blower right behind the video card which is a geforce 2 pro.

I have a 1.1Ghz AFJA TB and a Hollow Core ThermoEngine w/ 80mm Delta 68cfm Screamer using AS. My temps are...
35ºC Idle and 38ºC Load. On hot days I hit 40ºC.
With massive voltage (1.85v) and an overclock to 1200 I hit about 42ºC, but I think my psu causes me problems because stability is bad at 1200Mhz.
