Circuit City does, I've done it many times. It depends on the manager and it also depends on how much is being price matched

How do you even go about asking for something like this? If they say no, do you go back after a few hours and try again with someone else? How do you even argue the point of a pricematch against a rebate?

When the rebate is a manufacturers rebate you really don't have a leg to stand on in asking for a price match, but when the rebate is a rebate being put out by that particular store then you should ask. In this case, the rebate is a staples rebate, not a logitech rebate, so go ahead :)

Got an okay deal @ Monarch Computers right now, too: $63 with free shipping for one, or buy two (which is what I needed anyway), and get them both shipped free for $118 (so $59 apiece to your door).

Ah. Well, for saving that much (Circuit City here won't pricematch, and newegg charges tax and shipping), I have two other keyboards. I can wait. :) Thanks for the info, though.

The rebate is a logitech rebate, not a staples rebate. I tried the price match at 3 CC's in my area, and none would match the rebate. They'll match the 79. (99 minus 20 instant saving) but not the MIR.

I just went ahead and got it, it was the last piece needed for my entirely new rig.

If you go to the staples website the rebate is for staples, not Logitech. HERE (http://www.staples.com/products/rebates/04_10_04Logitech.pdf) is the link to the rebate form so that you can see where it gets sent and such. Typically if it is a manufacturers warranty then it doesn't matter where it is purchased, but this deal is specifically for purchases through staples, at least according to the rebate form.

For the record, Monarch Computers shipped out pretty timely for me. My order of 2 mx combos for $118 shipped ($59 apiece) was shipped yesterday and scheduled to arrive for delivery on April 6th.

You can buy just one for $66 shipped if you like, as well.

Well, Monarch did me right - both of the MX Duos came today, shipped together in a box that had a big Logitech logo on the side (looks like they were actually packaged that way at Logitech, because they fit perfectly). And both duos were in their retail boxes inside of the Logitech shipping box.

I'm not sure how Monarch has been in the past, but they did good for themselves on this one. I ordered this using their free Fedex Super Saver shipping the day before I made a Newegg order using the same shipping, and this got here today, and the Newegg is due to arrive tomorrow. So not too shabby for $59 apiece. Deal is still active if anyone is interested and was just wary of the company.
