View Full Version : What sort of fans do you run on your rads?

Running my Mag3 -> RBX on a 2500M @ 2.5gHz -> Chevette HC, my water temps get around 10°C above ambient. I've got the rad getting fresh air directly from the outside of the case and it's got a shrouded 120mm fan (it's an AC fan that puts out about the same as a 7v Panaflow I'm guessing). I just picked up a couple of Comair Rotrons...I'm going to try swapping the AC fan out for one of the 24v Rotrons at 12v to see what happens. I could probably go with the push-pull setup if I have to...

What do the rest of you get for water temps and what's your setup like? (I've only got a block on the CPU, nothing else).

I've got the Swiftech quietpower and it accomodates two 120s on each side. Currently I'm running 2 Sunons (can't remember the output, but I think it was around 100cfm or so each)

My setup is a K7D Master duallie w/ 2 - XP2100s with 1.85v, maintaining around 42 - 44c (under full load) with ambient temps of around 74 - 75f currently.

I run two rads and two blocks, but on my caprice core I run dual 120mm fans that are 72Cfm each, and it's kinda poorly shrouded. Which I gotta fix.

On my BIX I run one 80cfm 120mm fan.

this is cooling around 240watts I geusstimated. A maze4-1 and my 3000+.

Maybe more, maybe a bit less. My water temps get about 6C over ambient, which I don't consider too bad given the heat output.

It sure warms up my room though.

No clue what my water temps are, but it'd be nice to know.

I run two Chevette heatercores in series due to the way my rig is laid out. Both have a single Panaflo 120mm, shrouded, sucking air. I'm using a Cheiftech-style full tower (24" tall) and one is at the bottom front with the other at the top back. I'm going to be switching the fan on the top back to two 120mm's pushing once I recieve a shipment from a classifieds member.

With a White Water, Danger Den Maze 4 GPU, and Swiftech MCW20, my processor is 12 degrees over ambient at 1.85v.

See, I'm currently hitting a load of 42°C with an estimated ambient of 20°C and water temps reported at 30°C...my temps should be much lower than what they are and it's bothering me. Everything seems in order...

Two 120mm Panaflo Medium Speed (86cfm) in push/pull on a BIX.

I'll be running those 120mm Evercool Aluminum Fans on my Thermochill 120.3 in a future w/c setup (one side).

I know I'm assuming things, but those fans do push a lot of air for the noise level...

Two 120mm Aluminum Evercool in push/pull with shrouds on my BIX. Eheim 1250 - Dtek Whitewater - Rad. About 12C over ambient with a max load at about 40C. Vcore at 1.95V.

Ive got two 120mm Aluminum Evercools with a push pull and a d-tek pro core. Both the CPU & NB are cooled with swiftech blocks (3/8" tubing) all pumped with an eheim 1250. Idles at 28 degrees (8 above ambient) and loads at 34 degrees.

What I'm wondering (in general) is how much CFM is needed to keep water temps down to around a few degrees above ambient...I've got decent airflow but my water still gets up to around 10°C over ambient under constant folding...My shroud has a few leaks around the perimeter that I need to take care of; do you think that's causing my high water temps?

(Post 200 for me...:D )
