Hello All

I was wondering if the Corasir XMS4000 was an overkill for my setup. ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe with P4 3.2C, I don't seem to be able to push it much over 220MHz.

I am using Zalman fan and copper heatsink. Should I replace it with PC3700 @ 466 instead and save myself some money?

Thanks,
Akko:(

Hell yes it's overkill, and not in a good way. Most PC3700 and higher memory is meant to run at high FSB at VERY loose timings. If your FSB is only able to do 220-230, then you're losing a lot of bandwidth because you're forced to use those loose timings on your ram without the benefit of running it FAST.

You would do much better with PC3500 on tight timings...

Thanks for your input, I am running the memory @ 2.5-3-3-7, I have not tried any faster timimgs yet.

I will try to repalce them with PC3700.
