Hi guys,
I got me some LOOT
Well, 2 applebreds and a new socket A board, which should bring me up to 4 socket A SSE systems, also hoping to get some intel power going, might finally have a board for a tualatin (it was at an as-is price) and be able to put the celerons to work finally, filled in a lot of gaps at a computer fair at the weekend.
So from 3.2Ghz of AMD SSE I'm hoping to be stepped up to somewhere around 7.5-8ghz depending on overclocks, plus 2Ghz worth of intel.
Might be slow getting going however, I've only got the crappiest of heatsinks to work with, couldn't find anything with a copper bottom or insert for less than like $30 at the fair, so I might even have to run some of these at 100FSB until I scratch something up. Depends how well these knockoff Volcano 5 style things do when I've modded them a bit (like put 60cfm on them instead of a weakass 20) Heh I even dream of having something as nice as the current AMD stock sinks LOL :D
Yeah I know, applebreds :D I was asking if they suffered from lack of cache for folding, but at the end of the day "2 applebreds @ 2.2Ghz" > "1 barton mobile @ 2.6" which was about my choices, no unlockable chips around at all, nothing less than XP2000 and all of those retail and around $85 or so, so I went with 2 applebreds.
I'm hoping to get a real lot out of one duron on my KT333 board with my good heatsink 2.4Ghz+ and 2G out of the other on my new-oldstock $10 Abit KG7 board.
I'm trying to decide whether to put the tbredA on the A7V or the K7S5A, the pally gets what's left. A7V has multis and volts but FSB is topped out at 133. K7S5A has some FSB options only, but will probably top before 150 with the RAM I've got.
Anyhoo, I hope to get some color in my cheeks even if it's not yellow any more :( :( :( very soon and bust into the top 200 in a month.
