Has anyone ever tried puting a peltier on an opening of there case? Having the hot end on facing out and the cold side facing in to the case. Then stick a fan on the cold side sucking fromn the peltier and then you are blowing colder then ambient air into the case. I might try it but the peltiers semm to be to overpriced for me at the moment...

You wouldn't get a lot of good out of it. Plus, you'd have to find a way to cool the hot side of the Peltier.

No the hot side of the peltier is outside of the case, so its all just going outside... but your right i dont think to muchgood can come from it considering peltiers are like 40$. I could buy 20 case fans for that lol.

where do you get your case fans?

I have found 120mm fans for 4 bucks at excess-solutions.com

O just look around locally I live in california and its got more computer resellers then anywhere else so its not hard to find good deals on stuff. I can find things for usually the same price as the lowest pricewatch price after checking local places. You have to pay tax but you dont have to pay shiping. You get it right away and its a lot easier to return. I like to do most of my purchases locally.

there's gotta be something. I got an idea but it isn't too practical. put a mobo in a container and fill the container with some kind of non conductive liquid (I have seen this stuff before). Then put that container inside another container that has liquid nitro in it.

I saw someone who put together a watercooling rig that used the non-conductive liquid instead of water and ran the hoses to a pipe that was submerged in liquid nitro and the non-conductive liquid was cooled that way and then ran to the cpu. The mobo was also submerged in the nonconductive liquid. the only problem was. The liquid nitro turned the non-conductive stuff into jello.

I wonder if my Idea would work. The mobo would just be sitting in a tub of nitrogen cooled no-conductive jello. It would be a pain to mess with the mobo though. I guess you would have to get it how you like it.

I've seen pics of a system submerged in mineral oil once. Then He pumped the mineral oil thru a chiller or airconditioner to get the water cold. Was sort of a mess though. PC parts just sort of lying all over. Did'nt look very good. I suppose if you put some thought into it you could come up something.

I read the same articles about the mobo in 3M Flourinert, the stuff is $500.00 US per Gallon, but talk about passive cooling.
I think it would be awesome.
If someone wants to split a gallon, give me a yell!

I cant remember who did it but somone used an old alpha pal (the big double fan thing) on the hot side of a pelt and a smaller HSF on the cold side. If the air was then vented into a case it would cool the air but condensation would be a problem. I also thing this is a very in effective way to cool you computer. I just dont think it would benefit much.
