Friend is trying to get his Live card to cooperate, but since he's reinstalled 98SE the system crashes in UT and Diablo II every time. The drivers are current and the board has the latest update. It ran fine before the reinstall of 98, but all the sudden doesn't. Anyone have any problems with running the Live card on their P2B.

hey! Shadow рс's back! sorry haven't seen a post from you in a little while... I think somebody mentioned you were out on a business trip and couldn't post for that reason...

what kind of Live! card is it? I have been having a lot of problems with getting my value version to work in both Win2K and Win98, but my Live! 5.1 is working fine in both operating systems...

Apparently the trick is to disable SB 16 bit emulation.......

The newest drivers for the VIA chipset (4.32 (http://www.viahardware.com/download/index.shtm#4in1)) are supposed to fix these issues... has he used the latest driver from creative, part of the liveware package that can be dowloaded from their site?

I've found a sweet spot with 10 different installs now and no problems... disabling the SB 16 emulation can't hurt either.
