my manual says to hold F10 during boot then i get some basic configuration settings. is there any other way to get advanced bios?

Try the everyone's favorite Delete button. (same way, hold it) If that doesn't help try Insert the same way.

Or I'm not sure about your comp, but when it starts does it display the Compaq Logo and goes into windows? Because when a computer boots it supposed to say what you should hit to enter the Bios.

Ok if you can't get Bios to come up. You can always use SoftFSP as long as your clock gen is supported by it. I can give you all the links you need.

and yes when it boots it displays the compaq logo then enters windows. its a pretty new model. i bought this one less than a year ago.

i dont think you can get into the bios with Dell, Compaq, Gateway comps, you might want to get a new Bios chip or mobo to access the bios

I'm starting to leave some commonly used, smalled files on my webserver... click here (http://speshalk.dyndns.org:1812/programs/SFSB17F.exe) to download it... I do need to say that I have never used it, so I don't know how much/how far you will get with it... but even 10mhz FSB is an improvement.

the 700 celeron is probably the worse celery for overclocking! (first hand experience here)
