I just ordered an refurbed Abit ti4200 128mb from newegg. (seen here - http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-123-119R&type=Refurbish)

However, I am wanting to potentially replace the stock hsf with a passive cooling heatsink (no fan, no noise). I'll be using a slot blower beneath the card so it will cool well enough. I'll be adding some ramsinks as well. Can someone suggest a good heatsink to put on this card? Thanks.

If u dont need pci slots u can put a stock AMD cpu cooler on it like i did.

Except i use the fan with it,but you don't have to.

I could spare the pci slots.. but I don't have a spare amd heatsink - would a stock p4 one work? I have a couple of those..

I really appreciate the reply.

Maybe you could try a 1U copper CPU sink like this one:

http://www.plycon.com/cpuc/van_6012.htm

... without the fan. It won't cost you a bunch of slots and may well be sufficient to cool the card without overclocking.

hmm.. thanks for the link, but if I'm going to spend $25+ on something like that, I might as well get the zalman heatpipe. I'm going to try to see what I can do with a stock intel hs first. thanks

That Plycon link was just to give an idea what to look for. Using PriceWatch I found this all copper 1U sink for $16, free shipping:

There may be even better/cheaper ones around...
