Cpu Have Over Speed !

i unlocked my 2000+ but i just cant overclock not a bit!
if i raise for only 1mhz i get a message cpu have over speed


xp2000+
corsair dual chan 2x256 333 cas 2
asus a7n8x dx bios v.1001
maxtor diamondmax + 9 60g

First of all... that bios is WAAAY outdated (also, do you have rev 1.X or 2.0 of the mobo?) What do you try to change in the bios... the multiplier or the FSB. And I have never heard of such a message, I assume it is in windows... Does it still let you run everything normally when u get that message? If so, I say the hell with it (and Bill Gates.. no JK :D ), and go ahead and OC and run Prime95 to check for stability.

finally!!
it was halt on all errors option in bios i set it to no errors and i was able to do 148X12.5=1850 but thats it not more than that
the wierd thing was i tried to update my bios using built-in util. loaded my bios file but it said wrong file size??? im sure i got the good one got it from asus web page my board is Rev1.04 BIOS 1001G duno wtf?
