hey how do you delete protected files with the XP OS? i've tried the 'attrib -r', 'del /f' commands and it still says access denied... the file is in the system32 folder inside the windows folder... i have to delete two files because they are virus files and the antivirus program can't do it... also can't hook up to the net for more than 2 minutes because of the virus... thanks in advance

try restarting in safe mode. open up a command prompt and navigate to the directory in which the file is.
try this command: "del filename.here".

if its NAV ur using as your anti-virus protection, sometimes it denies access to a file its perceived as a virus. youd have to add that file to the "exceptions" to be able to delete it yourself.

hope that helps!
