There's a heat wave hitting the Northeast and its starting to affect my computer.
I've got 8 fans in my case and an ALPHA cooling my PIII, and for the last week my CPU temp. has been at 40C when idle. Normally I'm at 32C when the system is idle, 40C is usually a reading I get when the CPU is under heavy load.

Does anybody have any ideas what I can do to cool my computer down?

Do you have a basement? Put it there.

Air conditioner seems to be the only way we have during the Hot summer :-)

Whats the ambient temp?

Getting a peltier (aka TEC) would help A LOT!

The ambient temperature is 93F (which is close to 34C I think).

I thought about changing my power supply fans so they are sucking air OUT of the case instead of blowing it in. I haven't tried this before so I don't know (a) how hard it is to do, and (b)if it will make any significant difference.

What's a TEC? How do I use it?
