3/8" barb to 1/2" ID tube

my cousin just acquired a reservoir and was surprised to find out that it has only 3/8" barbs. all his tubes are 1/2" ID . can he just use hose clamps to secure the tubes to the reservoir or is it a disaster waiting to happen?

well all of his flow will drop like he had 3/8 tube just get new barbs and change them.

Should work, but you would be better off changing the barbs on the reservior to the proper size.

go to ace or home depot or lowes they sell barbs plastic or copper. for about 1 dollar a piece. Yes he can clamp it down but it will not be very secure. heck the 1/2 inch tubbing i am using i can fit the 3/8 in it side by side. So actually i would say no just get new barbs.

Ace Hardware get 1/2" x 1/4" barbs for a couple of bucks a piece.
