I recently bought some memory cooling kits from Thermaltake and would like to know what the best setup for my memory is.There are 3 different options on how to use it
1. With the heat spreaders on 2 sides
2. With one side a spreader and the otro side a heat sink.
or 3.Just the heat sinks.
If anyone can understand what I am asking would you please help me with a little feedback as to which would be the best way to apply the coolers.Thank you!

If thats what you bought I would try what is easiest to undo and I imagine that would be heat spreader on both sides.
You cant attach the heat sinks to the spreader?

I would do the heat spreaders on both sides. That's what I did anyways, I couldn't fit the heat sinks on even if I tried because of capacitors on the memory. What I ended up doing is heat spreaders on the memory and then I put the heatsinks on the memory chips on my video card.

Good luck!

The best setup would be to stick the 2 memory heatsinks on one side and a heat spreader on the other side and secure it with the clip for a double sided 256mb ram. If you bought two kits, just use the 4 memory heatsinks of both sides and forget those heat spreaders and clip. For a single sided 128mb, use 2 memory heatsinks on the ram chips and no heat spreader and clip for the non chips side because you will short out the ram. If you install heat spreader(s) make sure no contact between the ram and the heat spreader.

The heatsinks are much more effective If you have a fan blowing at them to keep the heat down, you will definitely get few more Mhz out of your ram. I have the heat spreaders on my ram and get no gain in performance, just cool looks when matched will my blue orb and blue video ramsinks.
