What are the affects of placing 2 identical fans on your HS?
Will you get 70-80% more cfm?
Will it be much cooler?, Or, will you be causing turbulence.
Please advise

Thanks as always!

No it wont do anything.

Picture ohhhh a 60mm straw with a single 50cfm fan inside it. Then picture that same straw with 5 fans inside it. Fan #1 is only moving (as an example) 50cfm into fan #2 which is also 50cfm and into the others at the same cfm. What you have is a straw with air moving through it at 50cfm. Did that make sense to ya? :)

yes i was doing it...!!

i place two fans (cheap fans actually)
not the same fans...

i think when both fans have the
same rpm or CFM it's okay..

my temp drop 2-4C with my
colorful Heatsink 04B620 :p

take off old fan - use one that shifts a larger volume of air....

You take 4 60mm deltaz......... heh, because then you dont have the center of the hs heating up since less air gets to it (correct me if im wrong here, im still not sure what focussed flow means..)

Or, if you used the "Tec-stacking concept:
1 large fan, one medium fan, one small fan?
Maybe all deltas like Oright mentioned?

Look at my sig, I run the 80mm fan into the 60mm and get great results. Think its something to do with the focused flow from the 80mm (it has static fins to straighten the airflow) and yes you do need ear defenders.
P.S. Have to add I hav'nt tried this on other types of heatsink yet

This post got me thinking, and I decided to put an 80mm delta into my tbird duct! Works great, 4c drop! Now im going try and take the 60mm delta out of the cak and see if its better without it, because my case is starting to hover........

I would like to purchase the best HSF+F combo, and have it in my hands on thursday.
I think this can work, but again it would have to be the right combination of HS+f+f, and maybe+f again. ;)

I'm not concerned w/ noise, unless it will seriously damage my lil girls hearing in the other room, and If it's that loud, I might be able to put my case back on, although, it's never been on, and might stop working :)

I have 2 60mm fans on my PIII. I had to lower the V in order to be able to sint in the room with the thing but it works great.

The Idea here is volume along with velocity. One fan alone cooled fine but at 12 v was loud. I can run 2 fans at a lower rpm and have more CFM than the single fan at higher rpm with less noise.

Best advice here is try and see what works for you. Each circumstance is different. There are alot of variables. Flow through case whats in the case case style and many others.
