Hi all, right I've got my Celeron 800@1066 using a 1.85 Vcore. I was thinking of going all the way to 1120 but it's only stable at 2.10. It's ok for a short term but in the long run I don't want to screw up my CPU.Unfortunately can't read the temps on the cpu cause my thermal probe is broken. I got a Abit VT6X4. Got any ideas? Should I stop at this speed or push ahead and risk burning my CPU. Oh yeah it's only air cooled so I don't know if I should go further. Can't make up my mind. Help me decide...

Hey, welcome to the forums!!

I'd be a bit leery of running the vcore that high for any lenght of time. I'd run it there briefly, especially with air cooling (regardless of how good).

Those celeron 800E's do seem to be cranking out the MHz, don't they. Seems like every time I turn around, someones got one knocking on the 1.1GHz door.

I'd still rather a P/// at 950 or so. But that's a sweet O/C for a Celeron. One of these days I need to get a second slotket for my C600. It's a cC0 chip that belts out 1053 at 2.05v, 1017 at 1.95v. Seeing posts like this makes me want to fire that Bad Larry up again....=)

Congrats on the GHz!

I got a cel 800 today to replace my 566 that i killed by running it at 2.0v.... I got a nice overclock to 1066@1.70v, but otoh, i had to pay for the new celeron. :(

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah I've decided not to go any further cause I just don't want to destroy my processor otherwise I'd have to buy a new one so there's no point in getting more speed but having to pay for a new porcessor.

Indeed going from 1066 to 1120 won't gain you any noticeable performance, and I would never risk 2.1Vc. Did you try 3D gaming yet? Cuz my system seems to run fine @ 1.85Vc like yours, but she needs 1.9Vc to sustain 3D gaming

It works perfectly at this Vcore but I'm thinking of doing a little burn so that I can lower the Vcore and temps at the same time and maybe get a higher clock speed.

I got my cel 800 up to 1066 about a month ago, but the board is a wee bit screwed so it won't let me go past 922. But I didn't see much gain going from 992 to 1066 (as I was working my way up). I can't even oc right now :( . It's 36*C in here, no AC. :(

Liquidsky, try to burn in your CPU using Prime95 Torture test or similar. Probably get's you a bit higher after that.
Let it burn in for a week or so (don't have to run 24/7)
