Can someone tell me how to cancel an ebay auction and if ebay charges you for it? Thanks, I didn't put a reserve price, and if someone bids last minute then I'm totally screwed.

Edit 1: I figured out how to end the auction early and will just do that, I don't really feel like getting $200 for a $300 camera :/ Or would it be better to wait and see? There's currently one bidder :/

Edit 2: Hmm still waiting on a reply here, only 4 hours to decide :( I feel really rotten ending this listing but if it only gets one bidder @ $200 when my mom said that she'll kill me if I don't get at least as much as I would if returned it to Newegg, then I'm going to be in some trouble. I know it ****es off bidders when the item is ended early but I suppose I have some decent reasoning.... :/

Or should I just wait it out, seeing as how another auction for the exact same camera went for $282,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3807404230&category=30015

but I've seen others go for as low as $220.

I've confused, someone tell me what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Do a forum search sometime, you'll find helpful things every once in a while.

Hmm I just did a search and it didn't turn up anything from ElectroX. :/ Must be something I'm doing :) Either way, I'm fine now I'll just redo the auction with a reserve.

I typed "end ebay auction" into search, and that was in there.

Most items will go up dramatically in price right near the end. I spend a lot of time buying on ebay, and like many others, I only enter bids on items that are near to finishing. The reason is that if you want to purchase a widgit, you don't want to bid on a widgit that is not going to finish up for 7 days, because you won't know if you've gotten it for 7 days, and you can't bid on all the other widgets that might come up or you might get obligated to purchase 2. The easiest thing to do is just to bid on widgets that are about to finish up.

Of course there is no guarantee, but it's not at all unusual to see an item skyrocket in value near the end. For example, I was watching a Geforce FX5950 ultra card that was at 147.50 for 4-5 days until 8 hours before it the auction closed. When it finally did close, it went for $262 + s/h.

The best thing to do in your case, if you really want to guarantee a minimum value for the item, is to make a reserve auction, set a high first bid, or use a "buy it now" with the price you want without the ability to bid.

A No Reserve auction is risky. You could end up selling your car for $3.50.

Widgits: haha.

The only thing I ever bought on ebay was a lego pirate ship that I paid for as much as it was new in 1989-92. A few weeks later I saw them all going for half the price. :(

The only thing I ever sold on ebay was a pokemon charizard card that my friend gave me in 7th grade for buying him a soda. Sadly, a month later the prices they were going for in stores and on ebay had grown geometrically. another :(
