I purchased some hyperx pc4000 ram recently, and installed it in my new is7. whenever it posts, it says its only pc3200. Is this normal?

Yep!
Thats cuz its running @ PC3200 speeds. Once you crank it up to 500mhz it will read correctally

my ram doesn't read pc4000 when at ddr500. i don't know why and its a pc4000 midule. Its kingston hyper x ram by the way

As long as its doing the speed, dosent matter what it posts at, just be glad it runs at the speed you want it to run at .

exactly ,i could care less if cpuz says pc doogy poop. the most important thing by far is performance.. alot of the memory makers just program the spid as pc3200 cause basically they are binned pc3200 chips that will run 250 anyways..
