Yea i did that and i searched for about 20 min and then i was like f this im sure someone knows. In the search function i tried the following words that describe subtracting...
1) Difference
2) Minus
3) Subtraction
I really cant think of any more or what they would call it so i guess ill just stick with the cell-cell thing..
Like i said before the cell-cell thing works i was just curious as to why i couldnt find the function for it

it is probably because it is a basic excel command. it is one of the first type of things that you learn in an excel course or see in an excel book. i am sure that it is in there somewhere, but it might not be too clear since most people would look for help with actual functions instead of the "basic" mathematical functions... anywho, glad you found out. if you didn't know, all math functions start with an "=". that is how it knows that it is an operation to be performed on a value.
also, another thing that can come in handy is if you need to make a cell look exactly as typed (like if entering something like 4-10 where excel thinks that you mean april 10th), you can just put an ' in front of it and it will take the text as typed...
