Got some unknown motherboard here with an Athlon 800.

No matter what I can not get it to detect anything on the IDE channels.

Cables are OK, Jumpers are OK. Everything is fine. Once I saw it detect a CDrom.

I'm trying to get the HDs to work first.

Any clue? Thanks.

I'm sure it will work, but that won't help me, and I don't even have one so it doesn't matter.

I've had this problem before with another KT133 chipset like board before. Never could solve it, so I am figuring that its just me since I don't build too many older systems. Also, I only play with Intel ones, so what's the difference?

I know the IDE cable works though. It is from his P1 computer that was just working perfectly.

And no, it doesn't have a blue end, but I'm pretty sure its in correctly.. I tried it like this...

Mobo-slave-master

Correct?

And I tried rotating them and everything, nothing works.

It detected a CDRom once. I have no idea how.

I've tried everything, all jumper combonations...cords are in correctly. Everything is fine. I'm pretty sure that its not fried though.

I even tried my cable from this computer I'm on now and it still wouldn't work.

I also put BIOS to default.

What's IDE Block Mode?
