New to AMD, what's the scoop?

I'm going to help my brother upgrade his computer. His mobo is a k7sem rev. 1.015. I went to the manufacturer's website, but it doesn' have enough information. The current processor is a something or another at 933mhz. What's the bet proc. this thing can handle? I may decide to give him my tualatin mobo/proc, but I kinda want to keep it for overclocking. What do you guys think? Oh, one more thing: The agp on this thing is 4x; Does a 4x/8x card work on 4x and 8x boards (hence the "4x/8x") or only 8x? I just bought my first agp card yesterday and am still learning. Thanks.

And the otherway, I have a geforce4 card that is only 4x and works fine on my mb that is a 8x 1.5v agp slot. So you can with 4x and 8x, but not something like a 2x in a 8x slot.

Okay thanks. I'll take some time to email the manufacturer sometime this week.
