Re-post from my Cooling section post as I was advised I could get some more ideas/tips hear.
Please bear in mind this is the first time I have tried anything like this (hence why it looks so bad lol)
My Case front (http://groups.msn.com/sturmssite/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=11)

The holes are now approx 70mm x 45mm.

As you can see there is not enough room to cut 80cm fan vents,
so I attacked it first with a drill lol then I attacked it with a dremmel. It does look awfull but it works and more air is getting in the case already. But there is room for improvement yet.
I aint seen any rectangular grills, I suppose I could but some switches for the power and resrt button and move them and the LED's up and then just go the whole 2x80cm vent circles.

The holes have been made bigger and im thinking of using some mesh from some old stereo speaker to cover the holes and maybe changing the fans for LED's

I know it looks bad but still feel it's recoverable with a little help and imagination.

Your thought's please and any ideas appreciated.

hmm try sanding down the holes as those make it look pretty bad, from there get some anodized filters, paint em, and put them behind, or get some automotive chrome to wrap around the inner edgets, add some ducting to move airflow directly into your fans, that should help alot!!

lol!! you should see my case. This was my frist rig. decided to try to put a window in. I now have a side made of cardboard. s all good though. Still works ( running cooler temps too).

the speaker fabric is a great idea. Use some sand paper to smooth the edges. try to use the dremil if possible to get the hole as straight as possible. attach the fabric and call it good. Like you said you have very little room to go anywhere else besides up.

pick up some modders mesh and then get yourself some led's from radio shack to light up behind the holes. I would sand them as stated above.

as the man said

but yeah, get some mesh but tidy the edges up a bit first and find some nice little fans for it, could look quite good if you spend some time on it.

Yup i agree, like i said in the other thread, get it looking like this...
http://www.gruntville.com/images/hardware/cases/cm_centurion/CM30.jpg

Thats definitely the best way you can go from there imo. Moving the reset/power switches etc and cutting the whole bottom out like mentioned is a very bad idea... i think you'd end up with an even bigger mess...

Any mess whats left over fill and cover with some nice decals. I notice you live in the UK too, there are a few good places to get decals from here if you need some links.

Thx so far guys. Looks like mesh is the way to go.
I like the ducting idea and had pondered on that 1
So it's more dremel work to smooth edges, some mesh pref metal that way I can shape it so it sits on and through the holes, some trim 2 new LED fans or a couple leds behind each mesh and some decals to hide the cracks lol
