Epok 8K7A w T'Bird 1.4GHz running at stock speed. MBM temp reported as 52 idle and goes up fast under load. Using a Silverado HSF at 12v and a Coolermaster case. I've reseated (with ASII) 15+ times whilst experimenting and on the last reseat my hand slipped and something nasty happended, one of the plastic tabs sheared off the ZIF. There is just enough left to hold the Silverado on, but I am not confident it will last long.
I need a really good HSF that attaches in a different way - cant use the simple 2 point clip anymore. The mobo has 4 holes around the ZIF socket.

Currently, there is one heatsink that's mount directly onto the motherboard, The Swiftech MC462-A Rev.1, It's an excellent air cooler and cost about $80. http://www.swiftnets.com/
There's another heatsink you may want to consider, the heatsink clip has three hole on both side. The Taisol CGK760092 Forged Heatsink w/ Copper base $30+ http://www.inflowdirect.com/taiscgforhea1.html
There's also the Thermaltake Dragon Orb 3 $30+ but the Taisol is better. In a month or so, an Alpha hs will come out and its performance will be on the playing field with the swiftech mc462 and should cost less, around $60. I have a feeling swiftech will have another revision on their hs then.

Does anyone know how the "Core" from cpufx stacks up against these others? I'd like to buy something quick myself, but shelling out 70-80 bucks, I'd like to be as sure as possible;)
The core look impressive but the reviews I read show it doesn't cool down the cpu anywhere near the thermalright sk-6 and swiftech mcx370. I would choice the swiftech mcx370 for its performance, lower noise and cost $42+$5 S/H over the core or just get the mc462 for $70+$5 S/H.
