I want to upgrade my current video card from my current Radeon 7500 to something that will play the games we got coming out. I am looking at the Radeon 9200 and the 9600, mainly cause I can get it cheap from pricewatch. What I need to know, and don't quite understand, is the compatability. Would a mobo with AGP 2x/4x be compatible with a card that runs 4x/8x? Or more specifically would I be able to run a Radeon 9200 or 9600 with a Gigabyte mobo, GA-7VRXP Rev1.1? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

if your mobo supports 2x/4x then a 4x/8x gfx card will run in 4x mode. I would suggest against a 9200, at the very least go for the 9600. I suggest saving for a 9800 though to ensure you will be able to continue gaming for a while.

I second not getting the already outdated 9200, that my 8500 will stomp and get a 9600 or 9800. The new games (BFVietnam, UT2004, Far Cry) are very "choppy" on a 9200.
