System: Asus A7V133, NCP 255 Mb PC133 2-2-2, Inno3D GeForce MX400 64 Mb, twin Samsung Spinpoint V11+ 30.6 Gb 2+0 Stripe, Soundblaster 128 PCI, Netgear FA310TX PCI. Aopen HQ08 case, Alpha FC-PAL35 w/ YS 21 cfm, 3x Papst 80mm, aopen 300 W PS.

Currently running 10x140 Mhz @1.85v stable. 10x136 @ 1.80v also stable. CPU temp 55 degrees idle, 66 degrees full load.

It boots even at 11x155 @ 1.85v, but hangs short after boot up. Anything higher than that just Black S.O.D. Always hangs if set higher than 10x140.

What may be the cause of this? I know my temperatures is a bit high, but they are within limits. What is most likely: the motherboard, the memory or the CPU?

regards,
Henry.

From my experience with my A7A266 water / pelt rig, and my shuttle AK32 straight air, you are definately hitting the temp limits. It wasn;t until I installed my pelt and cooled down to around 70f, that I was able to get my 1.4 over 1.7
Ofcourse I'm assuming the temps you quoted are C, as I'm always using F
I have to be difficult :)

your temperatures are very hot:D you can't overclock your cpu with those temperatures...
tell us about your cpu cooling...

I agree, I think your temperatures are a bit high. You might consider replacing that YStech fan( which I think is 26cfm) with a Pabst(33cfm) or even a Delta (38cfm), if you can tolerate the noise. Or spring for one of the higher capacity heatsink/fan combos altogether..
Also make sure that the computer is in a well ventilated area, the CPU temp can be highly influenced by room temperature.

You might also double check to see that your heatsink is properly aligned to the processor.
It never hurts to remove it, clean the surfaces thoroughly and reapply the Arctic Silver.

Another thing to consider is to try more conservative memory timing at the higher FSB speeds.

Good Luck!
