Weird problem!

I have a duron 750mhz and the system is rock stable! Everything works, including burning cd-roms.

But... when I overclock my cpu to 800mhz (multiplier) everything works except burning a cd-rom...

When I overclock my cpu to 758mhz (FSB increase with 1 mhz) everything still works fine, except burning a cd-rom...

I have a plextor PX-W8432T Rev. 1.09

Nero crashes at 6%...

Anybody any clues???

IT sounds like your cd-burner doesn't like being overclocked. Hmmm...I've got a plextor 16x10x40 drive and it was fine at 150fsb. I don't know what to tell you.

Well that could be true, but CD Burning really puts a strain on your cpu especially if you do an image first. Try running a program like Prime95 or SiSofts CPU Burning program to see if it is actually the processor.

If you are overclocking by multiplier it definately is not the CD-Writer. Higher FSBs could cause failures though.
